Municipal Planning Committee (MPC)
Council established the Office of the Municipal Planning Commission (MPC) by Bylaw 1110-95 to act as development authority and subdivision authority in those matters prescribed in the Land Use Bylaw.
The Municipal Planning Commission shall hold meetings and undertake such actions as are necessary to fulfil the powers and duties as set out in Part 3 of the Land Use Bylaw.
The Municipal Planning Commission has the following functions and duties:
a. upon the request of Council, to advise Council with respect to achieving the orderly, economical and beneficial development, use of land and patterns of settlement in the Town;
b. to serve as Development Authority pursuant to Part 17 of the Municipal Government Act, and amendment thereto, and pursuant to Bylaw 1110-95 and the Land Use Bylaw.
