Council Responsibilities: 
  • The governing body of the Town of Three Hills and the custodian of its powers, both legislative and administrative
  • The Municipal Government Act (MGA) provides that councils can only exercise the powers of the municipal corporation in the proper form, either by bylaw or resolution
  • Considers the welfare and interests of the Town as a whole and, to bring to council's attention anything that would promote the welfare or interests of the municipality
  • Participates generally in developing and evaluating the policies and programs of the Town
  • Obtains information about the operation or administration of the Town of Three Hills from the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)
Council Meetings: 

Council is held on the second and fourth Monday of every month, with the exception of July, August and statutory holidays.  Please contact the Town of Three Hills office for those revised dates and times.
 
Members of the public are welcome to view Council proceedings. Council meetings are held in Chambers at the Town office. Council begins at 5:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

Council Remuneration:

The purpose of Council Remuneration is to provide an incentive to community members to hold public office and to show appreciation for those that dedicate their time and effort to the governance responsibilities of the Town of Three Hills.
 
Remuneration is calculated for each member of Council based on the guidelines of the Council Remuneration and Allowance Policy. Town of Three Hills Council is committed to upholding the values of accountability and transparency to enhance public trust.  As such, Council timesheets have been posted for your review on the  Council Portal.
